Morning walk |
We get up to the gates and started to chat with the Rangers on duty. Unfortunately, we were only able to go about 4 miles into the park before we would need to turn around without chains on our tires. We didn’t even get out of the RV to explore. We did pass our RV neighbors on the way. His hands were all bloody and greasy from putting his chains on. I guess he was a bit more daring then us!
Here we are in my only shot in Yosemite |
From Stockton, we drove into the San Francisco area and finally saw the Pacific Ocean and put our toes in it!
Today, we are at the beach! It’s Point Reyes National Seashore. It’s going to be a great day! We have a nice view from our RV. Tyler and I ran down to the beach while my Mom prepared salad for lunch. There were these sand cliffs that Tyler and I stepped on the edge of and rode the collapsing sand down on. It was fun. Our Mom called us up and we ate our salad. I took the longest. When we finally got back to the shore, we went on a walk. We rode all the sand cliffs we found. We found a lot of things, and most of it was sand dollars. Tyler wanted to keep all the whole sand dollars we found, but there was a lot. I just added to the mess he had to carry by giving him mine. We also found some jelly here and there. We didn’t keep that unless it was jellyfish jelly. We turned round when my Dad was getting sore, and the walk was getting boring like always. When we got back we saw some seals. They were barking really loud. We’d see better seals in San Diego though. We decided to leave to somewhere else for the sunset. During the drive we saw so much deer. There were babies, does, and some bucks on their hind legs facing off. They were really close and it was really cool. We drove to a nice overlook and followed a narrow path with a big drop. The sunset was really nice.

My friend, Kevin, suggested we go to Point Reyes National Seashore and it did not disappoint! We loved it. We had a long and winding drive through pastoral lands, passing historic working dairy ranches (circa late 1800’s.) We even had cows crossing the street in front of us. We kept traveling along up the to beaches, to the end where there is a historic lighthouse. We saw a ton of tule elk, heard the elephant seal’s barking and collected a bunch of pristine sand dollars on the beach.Tyler's numerous sand dollars |

I think we will take advantage of the nice weather and stick around here another day!
